Holly Kordahl, D.M.A., is a collaborative specialist in Shreveport, Louisiana, employed by Centenary College and the Centenary Suzuki School. She is employed as the worship director for The River, the contemporary worship service at Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Additionally, Kordahl maintains a busy teaching schedule and serves as the vice president of the Greater Shreveport Music Teacher’s Association (GSMTA).
Until her recent move to Shreveport, Kordahl was an active teacher and performer in Phoenix, Arizona. Kordahl was the head of the piano department at Rosie's House, a nonprofit music academy in the Phoenix arts district that provides free lessons and classes to approximately five hundred economically disadvantaged students. Kordahl also taught high school and advanced piano at Arizona School for the Arts, a prestigious charter school in Phoenix focused on music, theatre and dance.
In her activity as a piano teacher in Phoenix, Kordahl served on the board of Arizona Piano Institute, a week long summer piano festival in Phoenix, and was chairman of the teacher's council. She was a member of the local MTNA chapter and served as a judge for many local competitions and festivals.
Kordahl taught group piano and private piano lessons at Arizona State University as a teaching assistant and faculty associate. In this capacity, Kordahl served as the competition coordinator for the Bösendorfer Yamaha International Competition and Yamaha Young Artists Competition.
Kordahl earned a doctorate in musical arts (D.M.A.) in piano performance from Arizona State University, a master's in music (M.M.) in piano performance from the University of Kansas and a bachelor's of music (B.M.) in piano performance from Wartburg College.
Holly Kordahl is married to David Kordahl and has two charming daughters, Iris (5) and Beatrix (2).
