Centenary welcomes Mark Missildine as new Director of Development

Mark Missildine joins the Centenary College staff as the Director of Development. A Texarkana native, Mark received his bachelor's and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. After a successful career in the banking industry, Mark served his alma matter as the coordinator of Alumni Relations and Student Ambassadors beginning in 2015. “I’m excited to be a part of the Centenary team,” Mark commented. “As I looked to further my career in higher education, Centenary College stood out as my top choice because of its legacy as one of the best liberal arts institutions in the south. Being from Texarkana, I know many Centenary grads who have very fond memories of their time here. I remember watching the Centenary College Choir as a child and thinking, ‘WOW, that must be an amazing place!’”

Mark will direct and oversee efforts in raising annual funds for operational and scholarship support and collaborating with the development team in meaningful engagement of Centenary alumni and friends of the College. “We are so fortunate to have Mark on the development staff here at Centenary,” commented Fred Landry, Vice President for Development. “He brings an impressive resume of accomplishment from Texas A&M University – Texarkana to Centenary.”

In his role at TAMUT, Mark oversaw the office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Association as well as supporting the foundation board, Women for A&M-Texarkana and the Eagle Impact Board. He also served his community as a board member for the Texarkana, TX Friends of the Park, the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council and the Caddo Area Council Boy Scouts. He was also involved with the Christus St. Michael Friends of the Foundation, the East Texas Chapter of the March of Dimes, Wilbur Smith Rotary Club and the TAMUT Staff Council.

When asked about his civic involvement, Mark stated, “The ultimate success of any community requires its citizens to be involved. I believe you are going to get out of any experience in life exactly what you put into that experience. I look forward to getting involved with community groups in Shreveport and Bossier. I can’t wait to discover new opportunities to enhance the lives of our students. In four years, Centenary will celebrate its 200-year anniversary. However, we have so much to celebrate every day at Centenary.”
