March Mania Scores for Athletics
Through the generosity of donors and support and coordination through the Centenary Athletic Club and the development division, over $30,000 was raised for special projects for individual sports during March Mania. These funds help support important needs for competitive sustainability and enhancements for the student-athlete experience that are not available in the current athletic budget. Parents, alumni and friends of the College stepped in this past March to help meet and address these needs.
- Swimming surpassed their fundraising efforts for a new scoreboard
- Gymnastics raised enough funding for new apparel for travel, practice, and competition
Other projects that are partially funded but still need some support:
- Upgrades for the Ladies basketball locker room
- A gym floor scrubber for the Gents basketball team
- New hitting technology for the Gents baseball team to measure hitting statistics and provide instant feedback for improvement
- A chipping and putting green on campus for Ladies and Gents golf
- Preseason tournament domestic travel costs for Ladies soccer
- A field tarp cover for Softball
- Travel to California for Volleyball for a match with California Lutheran to improve the team’s rating percentage index (RPI)
