Centenary Giving Day is a 24-hour online event that encourages alumni and friends to support the College’s greatest priorities and opportunities – including scholarships and unrestricted funds at the College. Previously held in November, the Development Department decided to move the event away from the national online giving day, Giving Tuesday, in order to have a day that is exclusive to Centenary and meaningful to the Centenary community.
Centenary Giving Day will now be held in conjunction with Centenary’s annual Founder’s Day celebration in February, giving donors a chance to recognize the College’s history while investing in its present and future. “We are proud of the success we have had and are very grateful for our supporters who invest in education, and work to enrich the student experience here at Centenary,” said VP of Development Fred Landry. “Now more than ever, it’s important that we be innovative and look for new opportunities to inspire philanthropy throughout the academic year and improve on the way we communicate the needs of the College.”
Since its inception, generous supporters have contributed more than $690,000 to Centenary as part of the event. Last year, more than 80 gifts were made to support Giving Tuesday. Although the official Centenary Giving Day will be moving, Centenary still plans on participating in Giving Tuesday on a smaller scale.
For alumni and friends who remain interested in providing timely support to Centenary this holiday season, you can still contribute during Giving Tuesday, or any other time at www.Centenary.edu/give.
Please mark your calendars to join the entire community for our eighth Centenary Giving Day February 9, 2023.
