The Impact of The C Club

Centenary College, founded in 1825, is consistently recognized as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the South. As we approach our upcoming bicentennial, the Centenary experience extends far beyond academics; it is deeply enriched by a commitment to excellence in athletics.

With a proud history of conference championships and multiple NCAA tournament appearances, over 60% of our growing student body are dedicated athletes. These student-athletes exemplify resilience and dedication, often rising before 5 AM to train with their coaches and teammates, driven by a singular goal: to improve every day. Their hard work is reflected in their achievements; last semester, more than 40 athletes made the Dean’s List, showcasing their ability to excel both in the classroom and on the field.

In addition to their athletic and academic pursuits, many student-athletes develop invaluable leadership skills through programs like the Maroon Jackets, where they learn the importance of teamwork, community engagement, and mentorship. This holistic approach prepares them not just for competition, but for life beyond Centenary.

The culture of excellence at Centenary fosters a supportive environment where athletes thrive. Our student-athletes form tight-knit communities that cultivate friendships and networks lasting a lifetime. Their accomplishments, both on and off the field, embody the core values of Centenary: integrity, perseverance, and a commitment to personal growth.

The C Club plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience of our student-athletes. By providing essential financial support, The C Club directly impacts our athletic programs, enabling them to compete at higher levels and fostering a sense of community among athletes and supporters alike.

Funds raised by The C Club cover vital expenses for our athletic teams, including travel costs for away games, which are crucial for competing against regional rivals. Additionally, resources are allocated for state-of-the-art training equipment, such as GPS trackers that help athletes monitor performance and enhance their skills.

The C Club is committed to supporting not only the competitive side of athletics but also the personal and academic growth of our student-athletes. Scholarships and grants assist deserving athletes in managing their educational expenses, allowing them to focus on both studies and sports. By creating opportunities for mentorship and skill development, The C Club helps shape well-rounded individuals who excel both on and off the field.

Events organized by The C Club, such as the Selection Show Party and celebrations for championship victories, foster a strong sense of camaraderie among athletes, alumni, and fans. These gatherings strengthen school spirit and create lasting memories, encouraging a supportive network that extends well beyond their time at Centenary.

The C Club also provides unique opportunities for student-athletes to engage in leadership roles. Through organizing events and fundraising activities, athletes develop essential skills that serve them throughout their lives. This focus on leadership enhances their college experience and prepares them for future endeavors, whether in sports or their professional careers.

By actively involving alumni and local businesses, The C Club fosters a strong connection between the college and the wider community. Collaborative events not only raise funds but also build relationships that support our student-athletes. Local businesses often sponsor events or provide services, further intertwining the college with the community and reinforcing the importance of supporting our student-athletes.

The C Club is more than just a booster organization; it is a vital support system that enriches the lives of our student-athletes. By providing financial resources, fostering community, and promoting personal development, The C Club ensures that Centenary's athletic programs continue to thrive and that our student-athletes can achieve their fullest potential.
