Centenary announces February 20 as annual Centenary Giving Day
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary is celebrating its annual Centenary Giving Day in conjunction with Founders’ Day on February 20 and has secured $50,000 toward matching gifts. Centenary Giving Day is an online day of giving designed to celebrate the College’s past and highlight its bright future. During Centenary Giving Day, supporters can give online to a variety of funds and have the chance to earn exclusive gifts and recognitions.
Donors have a chance to get a jump start on their giving with the Early Giveaway promotion. While supplies last, any gift of $25 or more will earn donors an exclusive print of Centenary’s original campus in Jackson, Louisiana. Early giving is now open at centenary.edu/givingday.
On February 20, the “Power Hour” promotion from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. will offer another exclusive incentive gift. All gifts of $50 or more made during this time period will receive a limited-edition tote bag featuring a custom design created exclusively for Centenary by Julia Gash, a British graphic artist known for her whimsical illustrations of cities, towns, and over 500 exclusive university and college-themed designs.
"Giving Day is a great opportunity for alumni and friends of Centenary to show their support and invest in the life of the College," commented Vice President for Development, Fred Landry. "They also have options to give to programs or causes at Centenary that have meaning and importance to them, including scholarships, athletic teams, academics, and general support."
Throughout Centenary's Bicentennial year in 2025, donors who make a gift of $200 to any designation will be honored as members of the 200 Club, with their name proudly displayed on a special donor wall to be constructed in one of Centenary's campus buildings. While this opportunity is available all year, we are especially highlighting it on Centenary Giving Day. 200 Club donors can direct their contributions to the Centenary Annual Fund or to a number of affinity funds supporting specific academic departments, renovation projects in Mickle Hall and the Hurley School of Music, athletic projects, and more.
The online day of giving concludes with an in-person “Happy Hours” event at Marilynn’s Place in Shreveport. Ten percent of all proceeds from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on February 20 will be donated to Centenary to support Giving Day.
