SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Choir has been invited to join choirs from Southern University and Grambling State University to perform during the inauguration ceremony for Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, who is beginning his second term in January 2020. The Choir was also one of five groups invited to perform pre-ceremony music for Governor Edwards’ first inauguration in January 2016.

The 2020 inauguration ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 13, at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge. The combined choirs will perform two selections during the inauguration ceremony, “Total Praise” and “Order My Steps.”

“We are honored to be a part of the occasion and to add our voices in wishing our Governor well in his second term,” says Dr. David Hobson, A.C. “Cheesy” Voran Choir Director. “I’m also looking forward to collaborating with the Grambling and Southern choirs in offering such uplifting and iconic selections.”

Louisiana Public Broadcasting will provide live streaming of the inauguration on Monday, January 13 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zf5a35vLF20.
