Centenary College receives $10,000 donation to support art, athletics

Centenary College received a $10,000 pledge, this week, from Morris & Dewett Injury Lawyers to help grow varsity athletics and celebrate the college’s history, art, and culture.
Morris & Dewett will be the title sponsor of the Bicentennial Art Stroll happening the evening of April 3, 2025. The Art Stroll is one of several events celebrating Centenary College’s bicentennial, honoring 200 years of excellence. It will be a unique evening of artistic experiences and another way for Centenary College’s vibrant heritage and culture to be honored. Half of the firm’s gift covers the sponsorship.
The remaining $5,000 will go to Centenary College’s “C Club,” an initiative that bolsters the college’s 20 varsity sports. The contribution will help enhance those athletic programs.
“We appreciate Morris & Dewett's investment in the life of the College to support these important initiatives,” said Fred Landry, Vice President for Development. “We look forward to a continued partnership in advancing the mission of Centenary.”
Morris & Dewett’s generosity helps secure the ongoing success of Centenary College’s programs and enrichment for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community.
“Centenary College is special to so many people in Shreveport-Bossier,” said Mackenzie Newlan, engagement specialist for Morris & Dewett Injury Attorneys. “We are invested in all aspects of the Shreveport community and are really excited about working with Centenary on this event. Centenary's Art Stroll is a perfect way to celebrate the college's history of art and excellence, and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”
