Centenary’s Annual Founders’ Day Convocation is February 20

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College’s annual Founders’ Day observance will be Thursday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. in Brown Chapel. The Founders’ Day convocation celebrates the College’s long history as well as recent achievements by faculty and staff. The convocation is free and open to the public.
Founders’ Day Convocation speakers this year include Edward J. Crawford III, a member of the College’s Board of Trustees since 1991; Dr. Jefferson Hendricks ‘75, a Centenary alumnus and faculty member for over 40 years; Cheredith Rhone ‘17, Centenary alumna; and Tuyen Chau ’25, a current student. The four speakers will offer short reflections on how Centenary has influenced them and affected their lives.
During the convocation, Dr. Christopher Holoman will announce service pins for faculty and staff along with several special annual awards, the President’s Excellence Award and the Outstanding Teacher Award.

Centenary is also celebrating its annual Centenary Giving Day on February 20 with a series of special promotions for friends and supporters of the College, including the opportunity to receive a limited edition print of Centenary’s original campus in Jackson, Louisiana. Centenary Giving Day is an online day of giving designed to celebrate the College’s past and highlight its bright future.
