Centenary throws Mardi Gras Party for Highland Parade watchers

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College is throwing a Neighborhood Mardi Gras Celebration on March 2, 2025, and the community is invited to join in the fun as the Krewe of Highland parade rolls by the campus.
Bleachers will be placed along Centenary Boulevard across the street from the Meadows Museum. Parade viewers will enjoy free popcorn and cotton candy – purple, green and gold, of course! Three outstanding food trucks will offer food for purchase: The Cajun Asian (voted Best of SB 2024), Joe’s 2 Geaux (wood-fired brick oven pizza), and Taqueria Flores (mouthwatering authentic Mexican). The bleachers are designated as family-friendly seating, with no alcohol allowed.
The Krewe of Highland rolls at 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of Gilbert and Gregg Streets and winds through the Highland neighborhood. It will pass by Centenary College toward the end of the parade. Party refreshments and food trucks will be available starting before 1:00 p.m. Parade viewers should note that many streets near the parade route will close at 1:00 p.m., so they are encouraged to arrive before then.
Mardi Gras at Centenary event is part of the college’s year-long celebration of its bicentennial. To see more about Centenary’s 200th and upcoming events visit centenary200.com.
