Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College announces fall 2024 exhibitions

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College will highlight local art and architecture throughout their fall 2024 exhibitions. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.

The Fall 2024 Preview Reception on Friday, August 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will mark the debut of three exhibitions: Bill Wiener’s World, a retrospective curated by Bruce Allen; Celebrating Shreveport Architecture – 100 Years in the Making, organized by the American Institute of Architecture; and Ida Bell’s House, organized by the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation. The preview reception is free and open to the public, and a cash bar is available.

Bill Wiener’s World and Celebrating Shreveport Architecture will run through November 26. Ida Bell’s House, hung in the Museum’s rotating Project Space Gallery, will close on September 27.

Two additional exhibitions will rotate through the Project Space Gallery to round out the fall 2024 exhibition season. Mick Logan will present Mick’s Media from October 1 through 25, and Unexpected Modernism: The Wiener Brothers Story, a film by Gregory Kallenberg, will anchor the Museum’s fall schedule. The film will play in the Project Space Gallery from October 29 through November 26.

"Our exhibitions this fall center around architecture,” said Alissa Klaus, director of the Meadows Museum. “Whether implemented as a form of artistic expression on its own, or used to inspire artistic expression in others, iconic landmarks and local architects including Bill Wiener, Jr., are featured in our main galleries this semester."
