Meadows Museum sets spring 2023 exhibition schedule

SHREVEPORT, LA —  The Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College will complete its 2022-2023 schedule with six new exhibitions running from January through April 2023. The exhibitions showcase Centenary student work alongside work from professional artists, with two of the exhibitions being curated by Centenary students.

Four exhibitions – For what I can’t remember., by SV Randall; Thresholds, by Blair Bodden; Pastime: The Relationship Between our Past Creativity and our Present Selves, curated by Anna Jane Storms ’23; and Ink Link: An Exploration of Japanese Influences on Inuit Art, curated by Jan Gary ’23 and Debbie Brown ’24 - will open to the public on January 17.

Gary and Brown’s curated exhibition will be open through February 10 in the Museum’s Project Space gallery. Thresholds and Pastime will run through March 31 while For what I can’t remember. closes on April 22, 2023. Thresholds artist Blair Bodden will deliver an artist talk on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

Two additional exhibitions will feature the work of Centenary senior art majors Jan Gary and Sophia Romanski. Gary’s Mori and Romanski’s Fernweh will run from April 10 through 22.

A preview reception featuring the first four exhibitions will be held on January 13. This event also features an artist talk by SV Randall on his exhibition, For what I can’t remember. Doors open for Meadows Museum members at 5:00 p.m. and for the general public at 5:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

“I am thrilled to feature so much student work this semester in the museum,” said Alissa Klaus, director of the Meadows Museum. “Pastime, Fernweh, and Mori are truly impressive undertakings for senior exhibitions, and Ink Link expertly pairs prints from the Meadows’ permanent collection.”
