Randle's schedules grand opening of new pop-up dining concept
SHREVEPORT, LA — Randle’s, a longtime staple of Centenary’s Student Union Building (SUB), is launching a new dining concept for students this fall. Randle’s will now host a series of rotating “pop-up” menu concepts showcasing a wide variety of world cuisines alongside the grill’s menu of fan favorites.
The grand opening of the new Randle’s is Wednesday, September 8, at 11:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting and giveaways for the Centenary community. Students, faculty, and staff will have a chance to see the renovations made to the café space over the summer in preparation for the grand re-opening and can sample food from M&C, the first pop-up to make its home at the new Randle’s.
“I’m excited about the rotating menu options,” said Mark Miller, Dean of Students at Centenary. “Students last spring voted on their favorite restaurant concepts, and we will be featuring all of them throughout the year. A student pointed out to me that it is almost like we are bringing a new food truck into Randle’s every 3-4 weeks, and I think that’s a great analogy. The new space is beautiful, but the real change is the ability to deliver great variety while still offering all of the most popular dishes from the old menu.”
Miller is also looking forward to frequenting the new Starbucks area in Randle’s, which features upgraded equipment of the same quality as the company stores. Centenary has also hired two of the best Starbuck baristas in town to train the staff.
"I'm so excited about the new concept and implementation,” said Jonathan Okereke, Centenary Student Government Association president. “The food from the past few showcases has been delicious, and the physical space that it now occupies is absolutely incredible. Since we'll have rotating vendors every month, the selection will never grow old, but instead keep students coming back for more. I hope everyone is as ready for this addition as we are, because it's sure to make its mark on campus!"
